It might be a little tedious but he's German, so I can forgive him. I love his cool little board game he invented. Lukas is always pulling pranks on him and Anja and Renate talk mad s**t about him every chance they get. He's kind of seen as a bumbling fool and no one seems to like him.
He really seems to care a lot about the people who work, live and visit the castle. And this is why I never see him as a suspect. Ever since then he doesn't like that tourists come into the castle. He once took a tour group around the dungeons and there was a terrible accident that hurt several people. He doesn't like tourists visiting the castle, is constantly worried that people are going to get hurt due to his curse. He keeps himself locked in the castle not to protect himself from the world but to protect the world from him. If you ever meet your doppelganger you are to be cursed for life. Karl believes that this was his doppelganger, an exact copy of yourself by which one is said to be "evil". As they were playing, the boy never said a word. He decided to explore the train when his father fell asleep only to meet a young boy who looked just like him. When he was a young boy, he was riding on the train with his father. He keeps himself locked up in the castle most of the time mainly due to the fact that he thinks he is cursed.
